Overview: Haematologica wishes to recognize important papers being published by young investigators as first authors. For this purpose, we are pleased to announce the Young Author's Award. Up to three Original articles or Letters will be selected each year and the first authors will be offered the opportunity to publish their next paper in the journal as first author free of charge. Moreover, Haematologica will publish a photo and a short CV of the winners on a special page of the website dedicated to the award.
Eligibility: The award is open to clinical and basic researchers under the age of 40 at the time of first submission of the paper.
Application: The applicant must have submitted an original article or a letter as first author and the manuscript must have been accepted for publication no later than 31st December of each year. An option to apply for the award has been integrated into the Haematologica Online Submission system: at the time of first submission of the paper, the prize participant (or the corresponding author if they are not the same person) will check a box specifying that the first author wishes to have the manuscript considered for this application. If the paper is selected for the prize, the first author will be invited to send a short curriculum vitae and a photo, along with a certificate of his/her age.
Selection Method: The Haematologica Young Authors’ Award committee comprises the Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editors of Haematologica. The recipient of the award will be chosen based on the scientific excellence and originality of the study. The announcement of the winner(s) will be made on the Haematologica website at the beginning of the following year.
