Review and publishing times

Haematologica is faster than ever!

A pivotal stage in our review process is the initial editorial assessment, during which we
evaluate a manuscript’s potential for successful external peer review. To respect authors’ time,
submissions unlikely to meet our acceptance criteria are declined promptly (70% of Original
Articles and 43% of Letters).

For manuscripts that advance beyond this stage, the likelihood of acceptance is high (55% for
Original Articles and 73% for Letters). This initial decision is typically reached within just three
days of submission (see graph, Editorial decisions).

Following acceptance, we act swiftly to implement strategic measures that ensure rapid
dissemination and broad visibility of the published research (see graph, Visibility and Promotion).
